Protection and Surviving

When I was about two to three years old (I don’t personally remember this being so young), but I was running from the kitchen to the living room, from my mom to my dad. At one point, I ran straight into my big plastic rocking seal. It knocked me out, and I stopped breathing. My parents ran to my aid and called 911. We lived in very rural New Hampshire, so an ambulance would never have gotten there on time. While on the phone with 911, my dad began administering child CPR.

After a minute or two, I finally breathed again. My mom said my lips had started to become purple, and she was in complete shock. When I was finally breathing again, I was perfectly fine. The doctors said I was lucky to be completely fine and that it was so important that my dad had remembered child CPR.

I thank God that He helped me that day.

Omnipresent in times of trouble

God was there during the hurricane season, and my friends and family’s homes weren’t destroyed.

God has been there all the time. That seemingly hard experience, in fact, was God’s way of helping my friend live in a better home, removed from the abuse she was enduring from her stepfather.

And then, during the early part of this year, there was a threat at the school. Someone was threatening to shoot up the school. Once again, God answered many prayers. No one got hurt! Everyone got home safely to their families.

Once again, God came through, this time for me. My dad’s girlfriend was putting her hands on me when I was around 13 years old. I was glad I was old enough to call my mother and godmother. God sent understanding, belief, and help before anything could’ve gotten worse.
